Principle: a fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behaviour or for a chain of reasoning.
Principles are truths that cannot be changed and over the last few weeks we have been learning a few truths on who God is from the story of the prodigal father. Below are a few principles and truths that we can glean from this parable
1. Our Father is prodigal. He is lavish in the love and joy He expresses towards us
2. He listens to us
3. Everything He is and has is for us to enjoy
4. It is who you are, not what you say and do, that counts. The Father is out looking for those who are simply and honestly themselves before Him in their worship. So let your true being brims over into true words and deeds.
5. He waits and He watches for us. o matter what we have down. No matter how bad it may seem, God always looks forward to the day when we will return to Him. He is Love and Love always hopes.
6. He is compassionate towards us.
7. The Father restores.
8. His redeeming nature extends to things past
9. We are His. Whether we know it or not, it doesn't change the fact that He is our father and we are his children. In him we are always accepted
10. The parable of the Prodigal Father is a story with no end. It is up to you and I to determine the next steps in our relationship with God. If we draw close to Him, He will draw close to us
